Enviroquip® Rapid Sludge Removal Clarifier
The Enviroquip Rapid Sludge Removal Clarifier is a hydraulic suction clarifier that keeps the mixed liquor fresh while maintaining a low sludge blanket, and eliminates the worry of floating, nitrified sludge.
The Enviroquip Rapid Sludge Removal Clarifier’s straight tube design allows for virtually clog-free sludge suction. Our exclusive ScumTrappR® captures 95 percent of scum inside the influent well. Also, its unique SludgeViewR® located on the top of the tanks provides easy maintenance and inspection.Contact an Expert
This high-rate sludge removal clarifier is designed to handle up to 200 percent recycle flows, making it a reliable and efficient solution for secondary treatment of wastewater. It features the straight tube suction pipes, octagonal flocculation baffles, ScumTrappR system, SludgeViewR and Jackbolt™.
The straight tube design is highly resistant to rags, hair and debris making operation, inspection and maintenance among the easiest of any hydraulic suction clarifier on the market. There is no need to drain the tank to replace the drive components or clean the sludge tubes as they can be reached from the access bridge.
The octagonal flocculation baffles redirect mixed liquor and scum upwards within the inlet well. Along with the patented ScumTrappR system, they remove more than 95 percent of the scum. Any residual foam and scum collected on the clarifier surface can be returned to the aeration basin or removed conventionally to help meet stringent nutrient effluent limits.
The sludge removal clarifier is equipped with the unique Jackbolt precision bearing drive. It offers a high torque, high-hanging weight capacity and longer bearing life compared to a strip liner drive. It can be fully rebuilt or repaired from the platform without ever draining the basin or dismantling the clarifier mechanism.
Octagonal Flocculation baffles provide:
- Inlet energy dissipation
- Inlet flow redirection
- Optimised scum collection
- Enhanced mixed liquor flocculation for improved settleability
The activated sludge enters this secondary clarifier through submerged ports in the centre pier and deflected upwards via our octagonal flocculation baffles. The flocculation baffles prevent short circuiting while enhancing flocculation and scum collection within the inlet well. As the sludge settles to the floor of the clarifier, the rotating straight tube suction pipes siphon solids via hydraulic differential into the SludgeViewR thoughs at the surface. The SludgeViewR troughs allow operators to easily view and sample the return activated sludge (RAS) from each tube, allowing for easy monitoring or testing.
Our exclusive design provides a cleaner surface
Our flocculation baffles and exclusive ScumTrappR design ensures that 95 percent of the scum is collected inside the influent well, eliminating the need for scum to travel across the entire clarifier and providing a cleaner surface. The collected scum can be discharged through a separate pipe in the centre pier or out along the bridge via a small submersible pump or combined with RAS for further treatment.
This gives plant owners the option of removing scum and gross floatables at the source and returning them to the process aeration or removing them from the process flow train to the digester. The remaining biological scum and floatable that do surface outside the influent well is collected either through the scum ports on the SludgeViewR trough and returned with the activated sludge for further treatment or can be removed with conventional skimmer blades and stationary scum troughs.
