What does dosing rate, Spülkraft and flushing rate mean?

The dosing rate and Spülkraft describe the same thing, dosing is given as inches/pass of a distributor am while Spülkraft is a German process term given as mm/pass. Both the dosing rate and Spülkraft are used to quantify the depth of water that is applied by a single arm of a distributor over the surface of the filter before the next arm passes. The flushing rate has the same units as dosing and Spülkraft but flushing is usually applied over a short duration (1 to 2 hour) and much higher application rates than normal to increase sloughing of a fixed film reactor.
