Why Water: A Journey with Jing Gao

Why Water

In a conversation with Jing Gao, UPW Process Technology Manager, Ovivo China, Electronics, we delve into her inspiring water journey spanning over 17 years. Jing shares insights into the significance of water in our daily lives and the ever-evolving landscape of water treatment technology.

Her Journey:

Originally from Shandong Province in China, Jing moved to Shanghai to pursue her university education in chemical engineering, with a focus on petrochemicals. As more people in China began focusing on environmental protection and water treatment, she shifted her focus to water treatment during her postgraduate studies. Choosing water treatment, she recognized the critical importance of protecting water resources given its significant role in our daily lives and wanted to learn more about how to safeguard it.

Her first job in water treatment set the stage for a career dedicated to advancing water treatment technologies, “It’s magical how you can treat water to ultrapure water, with no impurities” she says. Jing deepened her expertise in designing treatment units and systems and eventually joined Christ Water, which Ovivo acquired.

The Significance of Water:

Water holds immense significance for Jing professionally and on a broader scale. She emphasizes that water is vital for both daily life and industrial development.

Through her work in water treatment, she sees firsthand the importance of ultra-pure water for industry growth and the necessity of saving and treating water to protect the environment. Jing states the importance of keeping her skills up to date in an ever-growing industry and how her designs always aim to meet UPW quality requirements while maximizing water reuse and conservation “It’s important for us to know how to receive water, reuse it and save it” she mentions.

Why Water with Ovivo?

Joining Ovivo marked a pivotal point in Jing’s career. At Ovivo, she found an environment rich in innovation and teamwork, allowing her to explore new technologies and meet the increasingly high demands of the water treatment industry. Jing credits Ovivo as a company that provides a platform to learn, discuss new technologies, and tackle challenging projects. She believes the company’s strength lies in its professional design team, which excels in process, mechanical, and electronic control system design.

What Does the Future of Water Treatment Look Like?

Looking ahead, she sees a bright future for the water treatment industry in China. Although the industry is still developing, increasing awareness and attention to water quality are driving improvements. She anticipates further growth in the electronic industry’s water treatment sector and believes that the biggest challenge will be meeting new projects’ increasingly stringent water quality requirements.

Overcoming this challenge will require innovative solutions and the adoption of new technologies to meet the highest standards of water quality. Jing is optimistic and excited to be part of the next generation dedicated to advancing water treatment and ensuring a sustainable future for everyone.
