Preserving our Oceans with Fish Recovery Systems

Our Products

The power industry relies heavily on water to generate electricity. With significant volumes required for processes such as cooling and steam generation, water intake systems need to be sustainable. This means that they need to be energy efficient and preserve marine life. As a leading global supplier of innovative high-efficiency water treatment solutions, Ovivo provides screening systems and fish recovery and return (FRR) systems that help preserve our oceans.

Conventional screening systems remove large debris from the water intake to protect downstream equipment and processes from damage caused by floating objects. However, they cannot differentiate between animated life forms and inanimate objects. Ovivo’s FRR systems, such as the Brackett Green® S.I.M.P.L.E.® Fish Handling Screens are designed to separate fish, including eels, from debris and ensure their safe return to their habitat. These systems can be incorporated, and retrofitted, into screening systems such as the Brackett Green Dual Flow Traveling Band Screens or Brackett Green Single Entry Drum Screen.

These systems are making a big impact on nuclear stations, hydroelectric stations, and other conventional power stations that rely on raw water intake systems. By incorporating these innovative technologies, stations are ensuring that they meet operational requirements that are responsible and sustainable. FRR systems such as the S.I.M.P.L.E. Fish Handling Screens are proven to be reliable and effective, increasing the survival of marine life near raw water intakes.
