Ovivo Nominated for the 2025 Water Technology Company of the Year Award by Global Water Intelligence

Innovation

Ovivo has been shortlisted as the Water Technology Company of the Year at the 2025 Global Water Awards, presented by Global Water Intelligence (GWI), a leading authority in the water sector, known for providing high-value insights and in-depth data on global water markets.

This nomination is a milestone, acknowledging Ovivo’s commitment to innovation, sustainability, and excellence in water technology.

Innovation: A Core Value at Ovivo

In 2024, significant advancements were made across research, development, and technology, all focused on shaping the future of sustainable water treatment.

Enhancing R&D Capabilities in Switzerland

At the Global Knowledge and Research & Development Center in Witterswil, Switzerland, laboratories were upgraded to address the toughest challenges in ultrapure water (UPW) production. Advanced cleanroom surfaces were introduced to detect organic substances, as well as state-of-the-art analytics to identify and measure PFAS at extremely low levels, down to parts per trillion. In parallel, teams are working on sustainable water solutions for the semiconductor industry. These projects focus on using less energy, fewer chemicals, and minimizing water waste.

Advancing PFAS Solutions

Leadership in PFAS destruction solutions has been strengthened through several strategic initiatives. The acquisition of E2metrix brought Electro-Oxidation technology into the portfolio, forming the foundation of Ovivo’s integrated onsite PFAS destruction solution. A partnership with Evocra added Ozone Foam Fractionation technology to enhance PFAS extraction efficiency for municipal and industrial clients.

September saw the launch of Olift™ and Obreak™, rebranded PFAS treatment solutions. Together, these technologies offer a complete, scalable response to one of the most urgent environmental challenges of our time.

Multiple pilot projects across North America further demonstrated the performance of these solutions in both drinking water and industrial wastewater facilities.

Membrane Technology Breakthroughs

2024 was also marked by major progress in SiC membrane technologies. SiCBlox™ ceramic membranes achieved NSF/ANSI 419 certification, meeting high standards for removing microorganisms such as Cryptosporidium, reinforcing safety in drinking water applications.

The opening of the largest SiC ceramic membrane manufacturing facility in Hutto, Texas, strengthened domestic production capabilities.

Strengthening the Innovation Pipeline

Ovivo’s leadership in advanced water technologies was further solidified by the granting of 12 new patents in 2024.

Each patent not only enhances the product offerings but also underscores the dedication to providing sustainable, efficient, and cutting-edge solutions for the water industry. By continually pushing the boundaries of what’s possible, Ovivo remains at the forefront of solving the most pressing water challenges. These achievements also reflect the dedication of the talented teams, whose expertise and creative problem-solving drive the ongoing success and innovation in the field.

Shaping the Future of Water

Innovation at Ovivo goes beyond technology, it’s about creating real, lasting impact. Every solution is a result of collaboration, technical excellence, and a strong sense of purpose. Guided by a mission to deliver sustainable and efficient water treatment solutions, Ovivo is redefining what’s possible for the future of water. Refer to the Innovation page for more information.

The 2025 Water Technology Company of the Year nomination reflects progress made and the momentum that continues to drive Ovivo forward. Together, the goal is to continue to lead the way in securing a cleaner, safer and more sustainable future for water.
