The Ovivo® microBLOX™ membrane bioreactor (MBR) is a fully functional, compact and ready-to-operate system to treat wastewater across a wide range of applications. Designed and engineered to be simple to operate, units are factory assembled from fine screening up to and including UV disinfection (if desired). When compared against other MBR packages or conventional treatment packaged plants, microBLOX units are generally found to be the best available technology (BAT).

Are there any microBLOX™ installations that can be visited?
Yes, there are microBLOX MBR plants located across the country. For a tour of these sites, please submit a request using our web request form.
How many separate pieces of equipment will be delivered?
The microBLOX system is complete and Ready-to-Operate packaged wastewater treatment plant. There will be a few loose items which the contractor will need to install such as ladders or stairs. But for Ovivo’s base models, the system is completely factory assembled, including PLC and motor controls.
Is a building required?
It is not required for the microBLOX system to be placed indoors. If a building is desired, the small footprint of the microBLOX and the completeness of the package allows for a simple building to be built, to blend into the surroundings. However, a completely outdoor installation would provide the lowest overall construction cost. For colder climates, Ovivo offers a winterization package, with tank covers and enclosure panels provided as an option to further enclose the equipment space.
Does the system meet NFPA 820 standard for fire protection in wastewater treatment systems?
Yes, consideration of NFPA 820 requirements were incorporated into our design, with motor selections, open “chase” areas and equipment placement on elevated platforms.
Structurally, what seismic zones may the system be installed in?
Every microBLOX MBR system is designed to meet the following seismic criteria:

Is the microBLOX system available for rental?
Yes, a microBLOX system may be rented on a short term or long term basis. For a rental quote, please submit a request using our web request form.
Are remote operations included in the standard package?
Yes, remote access to a particular installation for operations personnel is made available anytime, from any computer. This will allow operational and compliance teams to remotely make operational adjustments, view and download real time information. Process automation is provided using a programmable logic controller, or PLC. The operator interfaces with the PLC through an industrial touch screen interface mounted in the control cabinet door or via a remote computer. The operator has virtually complete control of the system with this interface. Alarm conditions are monitored by the PLC and displayed at the operator interface. Alarm call outs are provided by an auto-dialer mounted in the MBR control panel.
What additional operational reporting services does Ovivo provide?
To foster a proactive atmosphere and to keep your installation operating trouble free, an EQuipTech® weekly remote monitoring package is included during the first year of operation, with renewal options available beyond the first year. Our product support personnel will perform an automated weekly SCADA data download. A simple report will be generated with the weekly data points and trend charts. These reports are then automatically emailed to approved recipients. Data will be electronically archived for the purposes of developing historical records. On a quarterly basis, our product support personnel will provide an in-depth review, report their findings and recommend a maintenance plan for the upcoming quarter. If at any time during the regularly scheduled events an alarm is triggered or trend anomalies are identified, an email notification is automatically reported to plant personnel for investigation/clarification.
How may I access O&M manuals, maintenance schedules etc.?
The OVIVO® Connect™ web portal provides our clients direct access to easily searchable documents such as O&M manuals, equipment data sheets, maintenance schedules, drawings, contact information, technical support memos and more.
How long does it take to commission a microBLOX system?
microBLOX systems can be commissioned within a week’s time. Prior to shipment, every microBLOX system goes through a mechanical check out and a complete system Factory Acceptance Test (FAT). This transfers 2 to 3 days of onsite work to our assembly shop. During this time we perform the mechanical check out of system and load all programs into the system and run a FAT on the fully assembled system. Customers are invited to attend the FAT on their system.
