Toome Completed Pumping Station
Pumping stations are used in a variety of infrastructures from land drainage and irrigation systems to conveyance of fluids in water and sewerage networks. We have expertise in clean, dirty, foul and storm water applications .Typically packaged in our turnkey project delivery schemes, or as stand-alone projects, Ovivo has designed and installed many sewerage network pumping stations. With a range of proprietary equipment our expertise also lies in pump protection systems including screening of overflows, for surface water applications (land drainage)and raw water intake, fish friendly systems, preventing fish kills upon pump start-up.
We provide expertise in both pump protection screening equipment, and storm overflow screening devices, such as RBIs, Cyclone screens, Crosswave screens, Copasacs® systems etc.
For the effective screening protection of pumps, The Brackett Bosker® automatic raking screen is designed for a wide range of applications where highly effective bar screen cleaning is necessary, including power stations (nuclear, fossil and hydro), land and storm drainage pumping stations, and industrial pumping stations. Simplicity of design and efficient debris handling make the raking machine the ideal solution for cost-efficient cleaning of single or multiple bar screens.
Sizing, design, installation and maintenance of pumping systems including submersible wet and dry well, propeller pump, end suction, ensuring ‘Asset Life Cost’ is kept to a minimum.
Trouble shooting of hydraulic issues including investigation of lower than expected flows, pump cavitation, tripping and blockages.
Surge analysis, hydraulic analysis, volumetric storage calculations, septicity protection systems,
Expert advice on resolving and minimising sewage pump blockages, and control philosophies on’ Best Practice’ pumping techniques.
There is an increased awareness of the impact water intakes have on marine life and this is reflected by legislation in the USA and, increasingly in Europe, requiring abstractors of water to undertake measures to reduce the “impingement” and “entrapment” of aquatic species.
Ovivo’s Fish Guidance Systems are designed not only to meet legislative requirements and the increasing demands of best environmental practice, but also to help cut operational expenditure by reducing disposal costs of fish kill and reduce the likelihood of a forced outage due to a sudden inundation of shoaling species, which can overwhelm the intake system.
