Across industries, primary and preliminary industrial wastewater treatment stages remove gross solids, grease and other insoluble pollutants from wastewater streams. Subsequent stages involve biological treatment, which removes dissolved organic matter using treatments such as Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF), clarification and screening. Following treatment, solid waste is produced, which is typically slurry containing a high percentage of water. Mechanical sludge dewatering has proven to be an exceptionally economic way of reducing sludge volumes and significantly reducing the costs of slurry removal and disposal.
