Treatment of Fresh Water for Make Up and Production
When supplying feed water to processes in which dissolved substances could interfere with normal operation, it is necessary to remove these unwanted substances.

Biological methods can be used alone or as part of a multi-stage system for the treatment of wastewater as long as the substances in the water are suitable for biological decomposition. If this is the case, biological methods have clear advantages over other methods for wastewater cleaning as dirt, contamination, wastewater quantities and the heterogeneity in the quality of wastewater increases. The sludge produced from metal removal plants often contains precipitated metal hydroxide solids, which are ideally suited to dewatering in Ovivo’s plate and frame filter press. Mechanical sludge dewatering is often an economical means of reducing sludge volumes produced by wastewater treatment plants. Ovivo filter press solutions have plates with durable, permeable cloth and are supplied ready to install. They meet the client’s need so effectively that dewatering will result in a sludge cake with up to 40% solids.
Specialist Recovery Technology
Recycling of process solutions integrated in the production lines with Ovivo’s technologies are available. Reduction of wastewater and recycling of valuable substances is done at the same time. Most of these processes need to be combined with purification methods to carry away impurities before recycling. This is, for example, done by special ion exchangers.
