Evaporation Systems
The evaporator is an application based on the thermal technology and is used in order to minimize the effluent (evaporate the surplus water present in the waste stream) or used to treat a particular kind of waste water.
In most of the cases the distillate can be reused, to achieve Zero liquid discharge.
Further Details
The evaporator can be used in many applications and processes such as: concentrate liquid wastes prior to final disposal, recycling of chemical solution, concentrating or removing salts.
There are different types of evaporators; our preferred is the vacuum evaporator for its lower running cost and efficient results.
Our Expertise
Involving Ovivo during the early project stages allows us to optimize designs to achieve the best balance between capital outlay, plant size and the required water production capacity for your plant from the prevailing process conditions.

Mechanically cleanable heat exchangers lead to maximum effectivity
Cooling and heating energies provided by the customer can be used
Scraper devices enable concentration to the point of "solidity"
Constructions in different materials (Steel rubber lined, SS, Ti)
Economic combinations to hybrid-processes.
Case studies
Evaporator and cooling of the electrolyte, is a possible method for the concentration of acid electrolytes in order to permit the recovery of materials dragged out of the process.
Typical examples are:
- Evaporator for rinsing water in the area of chrome plating processes
- Evaporator for rinsing water in nickel-plating processes
- Concentration of chromic acid (300 g/l) for the recovery of substances carried out of the plating process
- Concentration of alkaline electrolytes of electrolytes containing cyanide
