Boiler Feed Water Treatment

Water used as boiler feed often requires treatment, the level of treatment depending on the operating pressure of the boiler and the specific raw water used.  Low pressure boilers operating at atmospheric pressures often suffer from calcium carbonate scale formation and have softeners in the feed water supply.  At the other end of the spectrum high pressure boilers found in power stations require high purity demineralised water as even very low levels of contaminants can cause deposits and corrosion inside the boiler and condensate systems.  Ovivo offer a wide range of water treatment technologies for boiler feed water.

Boiler feed water specifications are produced by a number of organisations around the globe. In Europe VGB standards are often quoted whilst in the USA and Canada ASME standards are applied. These standards specify the boiler feed water quality required for boilers operating at different pressures.
